Home Office & Entry Update

I had a good friend contact me about updating her home office space to make it more functional. She already had a Pinterest board with lots of ideas about the things she liked, so that was a great starting point for our discovery process. She opted for 3 lower cabinets, and 3 open cabinets above with space above the uppers for storage. Uppers have adjustable shelves, as well as 2 of the lower cabinets. Shaker style doors adorn the lower cabinets to match the style throughout the rest of their home. Customer found a piece of quartz that they loved and had it installed on the lower cabinets. This replaced an old Ikea cube/cubby storage cabinet that was in this space.

While we were talking about the office project, they also wanted to talk about some shelving in their entry way to display travel mementos on. We discussed several options and decided on some floating shelves. They were stained to match the vaulted overhead beams in their living area as well as the shelves in their kitchen and finished with a few coats of wipe-on polyurethane for protection. They also decided that they needed to replace their existing entry cabinet to better match the style on the floating shelves. I was provided with a visual concept drawing and built the cabinet to match their drawing. We opted on solid red oak for the floating shelves and the cabinet topper and painted the cabinet white to match base molding and interior trim. Overall, a fun project to build and even more to do something for a friend.
